“Ghost” to the rescue of tot.
By Adam Beaumont.
A couple are hoping to solve a supernatural mystery after their baby son was saved from a serious accident – by what they believe was a ghost. Martin and Toni Connelly, who live in a privately-owned terraced house on Austin Street, Bulwell, believe the ghost of a young boy alerted them when their 11-month-old son Mackinley was in trouble. Toni said she and Martin were downstairs when they heard loud banging coming from the floor above. She was tood scared to go upstairs but her husband went to investigate and found Mackinley had fallen down the side of his cot. Toni believes the ghost might have been trying to draw their attention to the accident.
She says her husband has seen the ghost standing at the top of the stairs. And neighbours say they have also seen it. There have been other strange goings-on at the house, says Toni, including clothes and other objects being strewn all over the place and unexplained banging and footsteps. She said: “We’re not too worried about what is happening but we would really like to know the background to it.”
The couple, who have another son, Rourke, two, say they are anxious not to disturb the presence. “I am not frightened by it – I don’t think it’s a bad ghost, although I do worry about the effect it might have on the kids,” said Toni. Prayers have been said for the family and the house at their local parish church. Mrs Connelly’s sister Keri Salter, 28, said she had heard the ghost moving around Rourke’s room.
