Malacca Police Chief’s Vigil: Poltergeist Scare.
From our own reporter.
Malacca, Sept. 15. – What appeared to be midnight invaders at 155, Heeren Street in Malacca, finally turned out to be a poltergeist playing his pranks. Residents of the house had complained that they had heard the scamper of running feet on the tiles and had seen stones flying from nowhere into the room. They became alarmed, thinking that armed desperadoes were attempting an entry. As soon as someone left the house, sand and stones were thrown at him or her.
The police authorities were informed, and a watch was kept on the premises for five successive days. Although nothing substantial was seen, the same patter of feet on the tiles was heard. Among those who watched the premises was Mr Hamilton O.C.P.D., Malacca.
Those who have seen this poltergeist describe it as a white blurry object about three feet in height. Normal means having failed to rid the house of this ghostly disturbance, the residents of the house are looking to spiritualists and pawangs to get him or her out. The Malay spiritualistic opinion is that the house is haunted by what they term a “Hantu Bucyan.”
