Couple plagued by poltergeist.
Calling all ghostbusters.
By Lisa James.
Terrified Paul Bignall is appealing for help to put an end to spooky goings on at his home. Paul (30) is convinced he shares his house with a ghost or poltergeist. For the last four years Paul has been woken up in the night by the eerie sound of footsteps in the bedroom, and doors slamming. And on several occasions, articles have been moved, and papers and plastic bags rustled. Once, Paul woke up to the sound of a money box in his bedroom being loudly shaken, and another time a video cassette was pushed down the stairs.
The ghost visits Paul for three or four days, then disappears for a couple of months. But every time it comes back, it’s louder and more spooky than before.
Six months ago, just after Paul’s girlfriend, Joanne (26) moved in, he woke up to see a red dress hanging in the air. The next night, Joanne saw the same thing. Paul, who lives in Beaufort Road, said: “First of all, I didn’t mind. It was a bit of a party piece to speak to friends about, but I’ve had enough now. When I saw the dress, it scared me. Since then, we’ve been woken up by very, very loud footsteps in the bedroom and have heard thuds on windows and banging on doors.”
The house, which is about 20 years old, was owned by a woman called Mrs Shaw, who moved to Lowestoft. He added: “I want to get in touch with her to find out if she knows anything, and i’m looking for someone to bleess the house.”
