 Spirit “Rapping.”

A strange story is current that the houses occupied by Mr Hardy, brazier, Mr Palmer, draper, and Mr Sawyer, watchmaker, situate in Narrow-street, are nightly haunted by the spirit of the late departed owner of the property, who, about two years ago, put a period to his existence.

It is said his “rappings” have recently been both loud and frequent, to the annoyance and alarm of the various inmates in general, but of Mr Hardy in particular, who is understood to be at all times somewhat nervous.

Two apprentices of Mr Palmer’s are said to have distinctly seen the apparition. The matter has formed the subject of general conversation for several days past.
