“Ghost” dislikes radio.
An “unruly spirit” is said to haunt the house of Mr and Mrs William Still, in New Road, Bracknell, Berks. Mr Still said to-day: “It keeps on throwing our radio set on the floor.” “All this started,” he explained,”after the death of my mother last spring. She never did like the radio. I always switch it off.”
Mrs Still is in bed through worry. “I just cannot stand it any longer,” she says. “We shall have to leave the house if it happens again.”
Mr Still interrupted: “Zero hour for the poltergeist is 9.30 a.m. Suddenly there is a crash and then I find the wireless set on the floor. It is an old-fashioned battery set which needs an effort for a man to carry.” “I have fixed it to the table top now,” said Mr Still, pointing to a strong iron bolt screwing the set tightly to the table. “I don’t see how it can jump any more, but I don’t like it. I have an uneasy feeling that anything might happen.”
Mr and Mrs Still have never seen the set crash. They are always at work.
