 Villagers hunt for ‘ghost’.

Solve farm mystery.

Brasparts (Brittany), Tuesday.

Two hundred villagers with shotguns and pitchforks helped the police last night to lay “ghosts” haunting farmer Henri Jeffre’s farmhouse. The “ghosts” turned out to be the farmer’s wife and daughter, who confessed they haunted him to stop him drinking. M. Jaffre had complained that he had heard mysterious knockings; that invisible hands had tugged at his daughter’s hair, and that stones came from nowhere and hit him. But the farmer does not seem to be cured. He still believes the house is haunted.
