Spooky Towers!
Fears spark exorcism of flat ‘ghost’.
An exorcism was held in a Black Country block of flats today after frightened tenants complained a ghost was disrupting their lives. Mr Brian Jones and his 30-year-old twin brother David called in a clairvoyant to carry out the exorcism at their 11th floor flat at the 19-storey Prince of Wales block at Eve Hill, Dudley. It followed a series of spooky incidents.
They claimed that the incidents started more than a year ago with regular knocks on their doors at 1.50 a.m. every Thursday and Sunday. Brian Jones said the lounge of his Dudley Council flat would suddenly become icy and their television set would change channels without anyone touching the controls. “We had the TV set checked by an electrician who could find no fault. We got rid of it, had a new one and it also played up,” he said.
Mr David Page, aged 31, who lives on the same floor, said he too had been troubled by the electricity switching on and off. “Having doors knocked in the middle of the night when no-one is there is scary enough. But the situation has become more frightening in recent weeks as if more evil is being stirred up,” said Mr Page. “The latest incidents in my flat are smells of perfume and then whisky suddenly developing as if there was a presence in my flat, although I do not drink whisky,” he said. “I believe the 11th floor is haunted by the spirit of a violent person who used to live in the block.”
The twins became so frightened they called in professional clairvoyant Mr John Knight, who lives in the same block, to help. Today he conducted an exorcism around the television set. Mr Knight said afterwards: “I sensed a lost spirit who I have now moved from the flat.”
A Dudley housing committee spokesman said the matter would be investigated.

Poltergeist on the move…
A poltergeist which has been plaguing residents of a Dudley block of flats has disappeared. Spiritualist John Knight spent last week attempting to exorcise the ghost first from two flats on the 11th floor of Prince of Wales Court, Eve Hill, and then from th elanding outside. Residents had complained that a poltergeist was knocking on doors, switching on televisions and moving things around in their flats. Mr Knight successfully moved the ghost from inside the flats only for it to take up residence on the landing outside.
David Page, whose flat the poltergeist visited on occasion said this week: “I’m extremely happy that so far we seem to have seen the end of the poltergeist. It was not a nice experience to have things go missing and moved around, nor to have doors knocked and letter boxes opened.”
Mr Knight said: “I’m absolutely thrilled, the same as other residents in the block. At the time the spirit said it would not come back and it hasn’t.” Mr Knight’s expertise, however, may now be needed on the 9th floor of nearby Millfield Court, where similar incidents have been reported.

Spooky goings-on in tower block blamed on evicted ghost.
By Peter Swingler.
A ghost “evicted” after an exorcism from the 11th floor of a Black Country tower block has moved to a fourth floor flat, tenants claim. Council tenants Mr John Rowe and Mr Christopher Bishop, who share a flat at the Prince of Wales block in St. James’s Terrace, Dudley, say the ghost is making their lives a misery.
“We have seen black shadows across the walls and paintings have mysteriously changed places, moving from one wall to another,” said 23-year-old Mr Rowe. “The gas cooker suddenly comes on, we have found the settee moved and lights go on and off. It is all very unnerving and we may have to have an exorcism to remove the ghost.”
Last November, brothers David and Brian Jones said their 11th-floor flat was haunted. They claimed that furniture moved about, doors had opened and closed for no reason, and the television set kept switching channels. The brothers eventually called in a spiritualist to conduct an exorcism and said they had not been untroubled since [sic].
Yesterday, another tenant, Mr David Page, said: “We are all convinced the ghost has moved from the 11th floor to the fourth.”
A Dudley housing committee spokesman said it would help the tenants if it was called in.
