Girl Hoaxes a Town.
Wall pulled down in ghost hunt.
From our own correspondent, Rome, Monday.
A 17-year-old girl servant started a ghost hunt in Genoa which lasted for five days and hoaxed: squads of detectives; members of the firebrigade; and bands of spiritualists. Strange knockings heard by the tenant of a flat in the Via Margliano began the hunt. The police were told, and sought the help of the fire brigade, who pulled down a wall – and found nothing. Spiritualists held a seance, but nothing was discovered until the girl, Dina Cavalani, confessed that she had been trying to scare her employer because the employer said she was not afraid of ghosts.
