(From our own correspondent). Kuala Lumpur, July 22.

A strange story is related from Mantin, a village between Kuala Lumpur and Seremban, where a Chinese fish seller’s newly built house is reported to be haunted, the main phenomenon being a regular occurrence of fires in various parts of the house during the day. Despite careful watching no mischief was discovered, the watchers first sensing burning and next seeing flames. Bed curtains and even children’s clothes locked up in a trunk were found burnt.
