Another Mystery.
Showers of Stones.
Police baffled.
Murwillumbah, Monday. – A mysterious case of stone-throwing, at Round Mountain, is engaging the attention of the police, while women and children are in great fear and will not venture out of doors at night.
A few nights ago stones were thrown on the roof of H. Walker’s residence. Members of the family ran outside, only to be struck by stones. Next day they were cutting grass at the foot of the hill when they were bombarded by stones but were unable to see anyone.
The following day stones came through their doors and windows, and this was renewed during the night, and notwithstanding the fact that police were on the scene, no one could be seen. Residents are joining forces with the police in an endeavour to solve the mystery.

Mysterious stonethrowing.
Murwillumbah “ghost.”
People resident at Roma Mountain, near Murwillumbah, are becoming excited and alarmed in consequence of mysterious attacks with stones on the roof of the residence of Mr JWR Walker. Both day and night stones rattle on the roof and walls of his house, and the inmates are having an unpleasant experience, several having been hit with the missiles.
Two policemen despatched to the spot have so far failed to solve the mystery. Stones were hurled over Brown Hill, which is situated close by, and although the hill was immediately searched, no one could be seen, nor could traces be found.
Spiritualists say that it is the work of spirits.
