New Waltham, Lincolnshire (1988)

 Ghostly presence terrorising family.

A young Grimsby area couple with one youngster claim they have been terrorised by strange happenings in their council house during which a spare bedroom was completely wrecked, apparently by a ghostly presence, and the husband attacked physically.

Police called to the house by the couple found no evidence of a forced entry, and later a local parson was asked to bless the room. The couple, who do not wish to be identified at this stage, say that they had been awakened at night by the sound of a baby crying, that eerie footsteps are heard at dawn and dusk, but no explanation has been found. The husband’s mother has also heard the noises, and his two dogs refused to accompany him upstairs but stayed whimpering at the bottom, while temperatures dropped dramatically.

A Target investigator now is looking at the case, and shortly a medium will make an investigation. The parson refused to talk about his part in the story except to say – “It is a good thing for a house to be blessed when someone moves in.” This couple moved into their house about a year ago. They say that they are no longer frightened by what is going on but obviously want things clearing up. Says the young husband – “We don’t want to be identified because people might laugh at us.”

A local psychic group has held an inquiry which included placing the young wife in a trance, but the phenomenon continues. The husband told me: “Furniture was broken and thrown around and when I went into the room I received a severe blow at the back of the neck. Next day I was in a lot of pain. There is no question of anybody being in the house. We are no longer frightened but something must be done for our baby’s sake.”

Famous medium brought in to bring peace to local family.

Ghostly child haunts house – claim.

A world famous medium is to be asked to rid a New Waltham family of a ghostly presence – believed to be that of an eight-year-old boy – when he returns from a United States tour in December. The family – they have asked not to be named at this stage – have been troubled by unexplained footsteps, a sound of a child crying, and on one occasion, their spare room was virtually wrecked with furniture broken and posters stripped off the walls, writes Charles Ekberg

Already a psychic has examined the room and told th efamily that the “ghost” is not malign, merely mischievous and destructive in the manner a small boy might be. The psychic believes the ghostly child is trying to attract attention to himself but means the family no harm.

When he returns to this country famous psychic Don Gilmour Galloway, who now lives in Lincolnshire, will be asked to try and rid the family – young father, mother and two-year-old son – of the presence. Mr Galloway has a world reputation and has been working in this area for a considerable time in between his overseas trips and work in London. He worked in Grimsby in 1972 following a serious motorcycle fatality, and has a string of international successes. At the moment he is working on a welfare scheme in this area involving help to young drug addicts and other problems involving youth people.

The family specifically do not wish to be identified in case they are held up to ridicule. Their local parson has blessed the house but the phenomena continues. The family has lived in the house for almost a year and have now become almost used to the happenings. They have also been experienced by the husband’s mother and other visitors to the house.
