It’s so hair-raising!
Salon’s eerie spirit.
Strange happenings at a Nottingham hairdressing salon have led to the premises being blessed by a priest. Staff at the Hollywood Salon, Upper Parliament Street, claimed they had known of the existence of a poltergeist for some time. But the mischievous “spirit” only played pranks in the past… then it turned nasty.
And 16-year-old staff member Susan Crawford, of Gawthorne Street, Basford, Nottingham, alleged she was attacked. She said: “I was making some tea when the can just picked itself up and hurled milk all over me. And when I was sweeping up the brush just came and hit me.”
Her colleague 18-year-old Pat Parkin said: “We’ve heard money jingle in the till and found that things have been moved overnight – but it’s never attacked anyone before.”
Then a priest was called in, Fr. Martin Cummins, of St Barnabas Cathedral, Nottingham, read a blessing and sprinkled holy water inside the salon. He said later he had given the building a simple blessing and had not performed exorcism.
