Penzance, Cornwall (1921)

 “Ghost” Antics.

A supposed invisible visitor is causing distress to a Penzance (Cornwall) family. They have already removed from one house, which they sold to escape his activities, and they now propose to move again. The misdeeds of the mysterious visitor (says “The Daily Mail”) include lighting the gas, disarranging the pictures on the walls, removing money from pockets and placing it in different parts of the house, removing the bulbs from the electric light at the side of the beds, and taking the toilet cover from the dressing table and placing it on the landing.

One evening the woman occupying the house met a figure on the landing, and, thinking it was her son, remarked, “What’s the game,” but the figure vanished. A figure is stated to have been repeatedly seen at one of the bedroom windows and frequent knockings are heard at night.
