Naughty nun spectre at town studio

Music lovers using a recording studio in Rugeley have discovered the ‘truth is out there’, with claims the ghost of a naughty nun is causing havoc. Since the mid-80s the AbbeySound studio has been troubled by its very own X-Files including instruments moving by themselves and clocks jumping off the wall.

The Heron Court building, once the site of a convent, is reputedly haunted by a nun who hanged herself. Studio owner Lee Beddows took charge of the music workshop in 1984 and over the years has witnessed many strange things.

“There has, in recent years, been many strange things happen at the studio. At certain times, on particular days, the clocks in the building have just stopped. On one occasion, while I was telling a disbelieving band member about the ghost, one of the clocks jumped off the wall and hit him on the head. There have also been times when I have packed instruments away at night and then returned the following morning to find they have been moved.”

One of the most frightening incidents occurred when Lee was sitting in the snooker club bar, located on the floor beneath the recording studio. He was explaining the unusual phenomena to another non-believer when his glass of beer suddenly shattered. “I think she’s a very mischievous ghost and not nasty at all,” added Lee. “And there have been many times when I have felt her run her fingers through my hair – which is, in fact, quite a pleasant experience.”
