Saint-Etienne, Auvergne-Rhone-Elpes, France (1926)

 Elusive ghost that throws stones!

Family alarmed by nocturnal exploits.

From a Gazette correspondent. Paris. Sunday.

A family living in a house near St Etienne, in Southern France, has been awakened every night for a week past by showers of stones on the roof of their house. The missiles which come apparently from a hovel near by, are thrown by some invisible agency, for the strictest watch by gendarmes and neighbours has failed to disclose the cause. The country folk believe that a ghost is selecting this way of showing resentment against the inhabitants. – (B.U.P.)
