Not giving in to shop ghost.
Aishley Spencer (20) is fighting a ghost to keep her corner shop open all hours. At Auntie Ann’s, in Chesterfield Road, Sheffield, cigarettes are said to jump from ashtrays, stock from shelves, and lights and the television switch themselves on and off at will.
Her Alsatian dogs Lady and Tara became so terrified at night that they tore the wallpaper off with their paws as they fought to get out of the living-room at the back of the shop.
Then came the nerve-jangling shock which persuaded Aishley to call in a clairvoyant. She said: “A customer came in one night and I was serving him with cigarettes when he suddenly looked alarmed and said, ‘Where’s that bloke gone who was standing behind you?’. He wasn’t joking and said he had clearly seen a man who had just vanished. Since the clairvoyant came, things have quietened down, though there is still something strange about the place.”
