“Haunted” by Electricity.
A number of mysterious manifestations having appeared in a house situated near an electric-lighting generating station in St Petersburg, the police made an investigation. The neighbourhood, our correspondent states, had already got into an excited state of superstitious awe at the stories of band-boxes flying about the room, portraits descending from the walls, and other manifestations of the “house-devil’s” occult power. It was discovered that the house was haunted by considerable leakage of electrical power from the neighbouring station.
