Spirit of the season?
Ghostly goings on at an ancient farmhouse ensured white-faced Kevin Wadsworth a few spirits with his Christmas and New Year celebrations. The Met Office scientific officer, who works at Stansted Airport, is convinced a strange force has possessed his home at Tye Green.
He has reported a series of unexplained events at 300-year-old Monks Farm, which is on the site of a former Roman settlement. They include a vase changing places in his lounge for no reason, strange footsteps coming from upstairs and the sighting of a cloak-clad figure walking across tall grass.
Mr Wadsworth (23) swears his tales are not equally tall: “The vase really freaked me out. It’s happened about half a dozen times.” He added: “I’m the most logically-minded person in the world. I’m not the sort of person to make things up.”
