Woman flees ‘haunted’ flat.

A Midlands woman has fled her tower block home in terror convinced that her flat is haunted. Michelle Bash claims that plates, pictures and clocks fly around the rooms, furniture rearranges itself, electrical appliances go on and off at will and an appalling putrid stench pervades the place.

Now in desperation she has called in a clergyman. She says that nothing will persuade her back into the 13th floor flat alone. One night she returned to the flat in Wednesfield Tower to find she could not open the door. “It was as if someone was pushing on the door from the inside and I called the police. But there was no-one in there and the smell in the place was sickening. I was terrified,” said 21-year-old Michelle, who has lived in the flat for 18 months.

Local vicar, the Rev. John Craig, refused to comment on whether he had ever performed exorcism, but said he understood other members of the clergy had conducted such ceremonies. “If someone comes and says they have a ghost I listen very carefully and try to think of other possibilities. I would not rule anything out, but I would need to be very convinced,” he added.
