Electrical problems baffle householders
Appliances are being affected by mysterious occurrences

A couple baffled by unexplained occurrences in their home are hoping other householders may be able to help them solve the mystery. George and Marian Davies of Churton Road, Rhyl, are at the end of their tether after experiencing an array of strange problems, mainly with the electrical appliances in their home.
For the past two months a catalogue of things has gone wrong with their video recorder, television, free view box, clocks and computer. Three radio-controlled clocks have stopped or shown the wrong time, their computer printer has switched to red print, channels have changed on the television without anyone touching the control.
“It is very frustrating, we have been at our wits’ end,” said Mr Davies. “The peculiar thing is that for several days everything will work perfectly well. There is nothing technically wrong with the appliances,” he added. “We don’t know what to make of it; it has led us to believe some people in the vicinity are playing with radio waves. If this were the case then other people would be experiencing problems as well.”
So desperate are they to end the strange occurrences, the couple have contacted the police about the problem. “The police have been very good but have never heard of such a case before,” said Mr Davies. “They are looking into it, but I think they need more evidence before they can bring in technical support, which is why we are hoping other people who are experiencing similar problems may read our story and come forward.”
Prior to the problems with the electrical appliances, the Davieses had contacted the police about recurrent strange noises in their home. “A number of people said they were poltergeist noises but we don’t believe in them,” said Mrs Davies.
